ZOYA Debuts at RAFW Show with An Ombre Pink Nail Effect for Show Stopping Style!

In one of the week's most arresting shows, Melbourne couturier Toni Maticevski marked the final day of Rosemount Fashion Week 2011 with a show-stopping and breath-takingly feminine collection that featured feathered and draped evening gowns of sheer tulle with cascading frill-on-frill detail and appliqué floral embellishment, juxtaposed against architecturally sculpted day dresses and original tailored separates in a generally neutral collection palette, accented by bold pink contrasting for an overall effect that reflected the polar opposites of softness and hardness with traditional and modern aesthetics.

To set off a hair and make-up look that "played on dualities", show Creative Director, Dhav Naidu, choose a palette of five carefully selected shades of pink in warm and cool tones from ZOYA to create an ombré-pink nail effect that was as simple as it was stunning, as fresh as it was flattering.

Not a great follower of matching fingers to toes, Naidu's creative nail direction saw the ZOYA nail team mix and match various combinations of pink hues on tips and toes, including a dusty tea-rose finger nail with a bright and bold fuscia pink toe and a muted light rose-mauve toe with a candy pink cream finger tip for an overall nail look that was completely unstructured and unpredictably and perfectly pink. "After 'season-afterseason' of dark and edgy nail tones, I wanted to take a complete departure from that rather done-to-death look with a return to fresh and feminine nail hues, to create a softer and more subtle look which can be easily adapted from the runway for a universally more flattering look for most women. For this show, an ombré-pink nail direction worked perfectly to complement the hard and soft lines of hair and makeup," explains Naidu.

ZOYA, traditionally the nail brand of choice for Naidu at Toni Maticevski's New York Fashion Week shows, was invited to support and complement this spectacular collection from Maticevski for RAFW and also marks the debut of ZOYA at RAFW. "Not only is ZOYA a brand that delivers a high-quality, long-lasting formulation that is available in a myriad of stunning hues, the brand's green ethos is very much in alignment with the philosophy of the Maticevski brand," adds Naidu.

The Ombré-Pink Nail Look: ZOYA Piper (warm medium soft pink crème with subtle mauve and tan undertones); Zanna (muted light rosemauve crème with subtle lavender undertones); Flora (medium warm bubble gum pink creme); Sweet (pale candy pink crème) and Jolene (bright pink crème).

Show Off Winter's Hottest Nail Polish Hues With Flourish By ZOYA!

Ladies, get ready for gilded tips and toes this Winter! From the runway to the red carpet, metallic nail colours are big nail news this season and ZOYA has this hot new trend nailed beautifully with Flourish ...... a collection of six NEW mega-metallic hues, ranging from shimmering mahogany to sparkling gold to glimmering red - with a shade suitable for every skin tone, these highly wearable metallic lacquers can be worn with all colours, for all occasions.

The new season's spectrum of 'it' colours mean you can be on-trend with the flash of a brush - and a colour you love. The only hard part is choosing which one.

Fully-fledged nail fashionista, Rihanna, rocked the metallic nail trend early in the season with a wicked shade of tarnished gold. Then came the usually nail-subdued Gwyneth Paltrow, who hopped on the metallic bandwagon for a red carpet event or two. Victoria Beckham and Beyoncé are also big fans of the metallic manicure - think of it as jewellery for nails!

ZOYA's new season spectrum of metallic "it" colours (think burnished bronze, glittering gold and all shades of purple) means you can always be on-trend with the flick of a brush - and a colour you love. The hardest part is choosing which one!

ZOYA Flourish Winter Collection:

Richelle: sparkling gold with a foil finish
Zara: ethereal violet with a whisper of green, gold and bronze shimmer
Shivon: mulberry with gold iridescent shimmer
Mieko: rose with loads of gold shimmer
Cyma: red with magenta shimmer
Kalista: reddish brown with deep copper shimmer

So, get busy with that nail brush and show off this season's hottest metallic nail hues from the Flourish Collection by ZOYA.
Top Tip: Nails should be slightly longer this season, just peeking over the edge of the finger tips. Keep the shape curved and natural, for a polished effect.

ZOYA - Why It's Green - Nail colouring is a pretty toxic business but ZOYA Professional Nail Lacquers are not only longwearing and chip-resistant they are also free of the "big three"- toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) -
harmful chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects.

You can find ZOYA's Flourish Collection (RRP$17.00 / 15ml or why not try all six for RRP$90.00!) in fine salons and spas nationally and online at www.zoya.com.au. For Stockist and Consumer Hot Line enquiries, please phone 1300 855 644.

Upcoming - futuristic - fashion label Ohne Titel (Designed by Flora Gill

• Toni Maticevski (February 15, 2009)

For the second season in a row Zoya Nail Polish was proud to sponsor the
Toni Maticevski line. New York's Altman Building housed the Aussies'
sixth trip to fashion week where the couture designer's take on fall
2009 was all about fashion fantasy blends... Inspired by the Baroque
masters, the mixed fabric textures and unexpected detail combinations
(including sequins, metallics, sheers and custom beadwork) along with a
unique layered nail polish look gave the show an ethereal feeling. The
show's creative director, Dhav Naidu had manicurist Skyy Hadley and her
As You Wish Spa team layer Zoya's Collette over Yasmeen to create the
sexy, murky nail color effect.

• Tory Burch (February 18, 2009)

Targeted at women of all ages with an eye for the wearable "street
looks" of today the Tory Burch show delivered and featured a nude Zoya
nail! At the designers request, manicurist Jackie Saulsberry and her
assistants kept the nails classy, natural and ultra shiny. First all
hands and feet were prepped with Qtica Smart Spa Anti-Bacterial Spray
(the Germinator) followed by the Zoya Color Lock System (Remove +,
Anchor Base Coat, Armor Top Coat and Hurry Up Speed Dry Drops) for a
super clean, glossy nail look which complimented the fashions perfectly.

• Leanne Marshall (February 19, 2009)

Cheered on by many of previous competitors and fans TV's Project Runway
alum (and winner!), Leanne Marshall presented her first solo fashion
collection for NYFW and "carried on" with her signature layering in this
unique and lovely showing. The nail look featured was golden (Zoya Nail
Polish in Richelle) - selected to by Leanne Marshall and manicurist
Jackie Saulsberry to enhance the charcoals, bronzes and vivid purples
that dominated the collection.

Enjoying the shows, Zoya watchers spotted the one and only Andre Leon
Talley, Solange Knowles, Carson Kressley, Kithe Brewster (stylist) and
Sex and the City's image maker Patricia Fields, Kanye West, Helena
Christensen, Veronica Web, Joy Bryant, Olivia Palermo, Phillip Bloch
(stylist), Amanda Bynes, Joe Zee, Kim Raver, LL Cool J, Mary Alice
Stephenson and many others.

Purple Reigns As The Hot New Autumn / Winter Nail Trend!

Move over navy. Step aside black. Purple is here to take your place as the hottest new nail hue of the season. This most majestic nail colour du jour is universally
flattering, highly wearable and loaded with vampy glamour.

Various shades of deep plum, magenta and eggplant have been ruling runways and red carpets around the globe. Stylish starlets like Gwyneth Paltrow, Hayden
Panettiere, Lauren Conrad and Jessica Alba have been spotted wearing shimmering shades of purple at everything from movie premieres to parties while Ginnifer
Goodwin sported several shades of this new it colour in the hit chick flick, "He's Just Not That Into You".

ZOYA has been helping drive this hot new nail trend with three gorgeous, dark purple hues from their limited edition autumn collection - Pulse.
If you're in pursuit of a purple to really pack a punch, dip your fingers or toes into the collection's break out star, Sloane - a blackened plum metallic with subtle sparkle highlights, voted one of this season's most coveted shades by the European and US press. Next in line is Mikka - a deep frosty plum with metallic flecks that add sparkle and depth or Rihana - an edgy dark purple with magenta shimmer, is another great grapey choice.

Get busy with that nail brush and parade this season's hottest nail hue. To keep it on trend, purple polish is best worn on rounded square nails that extend just past the finger.

Dark polishes can stain the nail but ZOYA's patented formula prevents yellowing and staining and wears like iron when used with a quality base and top coat. ZOYA Anchor (RRP$21.00) does the trick beautifully and when teamed with ZOYA
Armor (RRP$21.00) topcoat/UV block, they will protect and dramatically extend polish wear on natural nails.

ZOYA Professional Nail Lacquers are not only long-wearing and chip-resistant but are also free from harmful industrial chemicals like toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) known to cause cancer and birth defects.

You can find ZOYA Professional Nail Lacquer (RRP$17.00 each) in fine salons and spas nationally and online at www.zoya.com.au.
